Demand for hybrid boats is growing - new order to Germany

news-details

The City of Kiel Fire Department has ordered a new hybrid boat. The boat to be delivered is an e-Work 1600 FiFi. The delivery of the boat is scheduled for the summer of 2024.

Today, organizations and cities are pursuing environmental and emissions goals. A feature of a hybrid boat is that it can drive certain distances completely emission-free with electricity that supports emissions and environmental goals. The e-Work 1600 FiFi is equipped with the Doen DJ 172 water jet with a hybrid system and the ECS400 control system. The water jets are driven by 2 Volvo Penta D13 engines.

The boat will operate in the Kiel area, in the Kiel Canal, and up to 10 nautical miles from the coast. In addition to the two crew, six people can travel on board.

The e-Work 1600 FiFi will be equipped with a Fassi crane, Simrad navigation systems, and a hydraulic bow thruster. A fire cannon on the front deck is connected to an Esteri 10-3000 fire pump.

The boat will be built in Kokkola.
